While you do command troops and heroes, the core mechanics revolve around base upgrade timers, VIP levels, and gathering resources on a grid-based world map rather than purely active, APM-heavy battlefield micro-management.
Introduced in a recent early-2026 update, the Hero Awakening system allows you to drastically boost a commander's attributes and promote them to Orange quality. To do this, your Purple-tier hero must reach Level 160. From there, you can complete specific "Awakening Trials" in the Regular Operations mode to gather the necessary promotion materials.
