MementoMori: Overview

If you are completely unfamiliar with MementoMori, it is an "idle RPG" with heavy gacha mechanics. In simple terms, your progress largely comes from waiting for resources to generate in the background while the app is closed. A "gacha" game means acquiring new characters relies on a randomized, slot-machine-style system. While these games are notoriously expensive—often charging $15 to $30 just for a chance at pulling the rarest characters—our goal is to bypass the monetization completely.

MementoMori features gorgeous watercolor art and a moody soundtrack, but if you are playing this via an offerwall like FreeCash or Swagbucks, you are here for the payout. As someone who has been completing these offers for years, I can tell you this game is a top-tier choice. Why? Because it respects your time. Once you grasp the basics, you can clear your daily tasks in minutes.

MementoMori Offerwall Tasks and Expectations

Reaching Rank 70 without spending money is completely doable as long as you log in daily and push your campaign progress. Pushing for Ranks 110 to 150 requires a massive time investment and heavily incentivizes in-app purchases. I highly recommend aiming for Rank 70 or 90 and moving on to your next game unless you genuinely enjoy the grind. And for the record, this is a solid game to do that with.

As with most offerwalls, these are the requirements for the game:
  • Fresh Installs Only: You must be a brand-new player. Android users cannot have downloaded the game on their current device before. iOS users cannot have installed it on any device linked to their Apple ID.
  • No Emulators: Play on your native mobile phone. Using Bluestacks or LDPlayer will likely void your tracking.
  • Allow Tracking (iOS): When you first launch the app on an iPhone or iPad, you MUST click "Allow" when it asks to track your activity across other apps. If you hit deny, the offerwall cannot see your progress.
  • Progress on the Same Device: Progress has to be made on the device you download it on. While this sometimes is possible with select games, it's not worth risking offerwall sites rejecting your rewards because of it.
Tip: Check your offerwall site a few minutes after installing to ensure the offer has moved to the "In Progress" tab. This saves you from wasting days on an untracked game.

Quick Guide for MementoMori

MAIN SCREEN
While the further paragraphs will give more insight into specifics, to progress quickly through the ranks of MementoMori, you will want a team with a carrying attacker and support heroes, EXP, and strong resource utilization. For levels 1-1 through 3-1 of the main quest, you can mostly just upgrade your characters, play levels, repeat. After 3-1, you need to start grinding out every activity in the game and collecting as many resources as possible.
The main objective of MementoMori is maximizing your team's Combat Power (CP). Raising this number is the only way to progress through the campaign, which in turn levels up your account.

If progress feels slow during your first hour, don't worry because your combat power scales exponentially later on. The absolute best feature for offerwall players is the Skip button. After clearing Level 2, you do not need to watch the battles. Simply set the game to 4x speed and hit "Skip" immediately upon entering a fight, which saves you time and lets you run through levels quickly.

How to get EXP and Levels in MementoMori

Earning Account EXP is your number one priority for completing the offer requirements, as it is the only way to rank up. Here is exactly how you earn it:
  • Playing Main Quests: Pushing through the main campaign stages offers a solid chunk of EXP and unlocks better background rewards.
  • Quick Battle: Available 2-4 times a day, this button instantly grants you 2 hours' worth of idle rewards. This is absolutely mandatory for leveling up quickly.
  • AFK Rewards: The chest on your main screen fills up with EXP and gold while you aren't playing, granting you hours worth of rewards quickly.

Resources in Memento Mori

Because the game revolves around managing characters, you need to understand which currencies actually matter. While this seems like a lot of currencies, you only realistically need gold, EXP orbs, and Kindling orbs.
  • Gold: The default currency used for upgrading characters and gear. It’s scarce early on but easy to hoard after Level 25.
  • Kindling Orbs: Required to break through level caps (usually every 20 levels). You will desperately need these around Level 45.
  • Upgrade Water: Used to enhance your gear. Funnel all of this into your carry's main weapon first to maximize their damage output.
  • Runes & Perfumes: Late-game items that provide bonus stats to gear. Helpful, but not your primary focus early on.
  • Diamonds: Earned generously in the early game by completing main quest achievements. Spend these on summoning banners to get duplicate copies of your carry so you can "Awaken" (ascend) them for massive stat boosts.
  • EXP Orbs: Used exclusively for leveling up your characters. This is a massive bottleneck, so do not waste them on characters you don't plan to use.

How to Progress through the Game Quickly

If you want to speedrun MementoMori, you must abandon the idea of building a "balanced" team of 5 characters. The optimal meta is the "Hypercarry" Strategy.

Instead of leveling five characters equally, pick one high-damage attacker and dump all your resources into them. Let them carry your under-leveled support characters through the levels, and the support characters will keep the main one healed.
  • Pick Your Carry: Use your early summons to try and pull Florence or Cordie. These two are the undisputed best early-game damage dealers. If you don't get them, pick your highest-rarity attacking character (not a support/healer!). Keep this character 20 to 40 levels higher than the rest of your team.
  • Push the Main Story: The campaign is very forgiving. It is entirely possible to beat bosses that have 300k more Combat Power than you. Since there is no penalty for losing, just keep spamming the "Skip" button on the boss stage until you get a lucky critical hit and win.
  • Play the Trials: Modes like the Battle League (PvP) and the Tower of Infinity (a tower-climbing mode) are incredibly easy to play and shower you with Gold and Orbs.
  • Awakening: This is how you drastically boost a character's power. By feeding duplicate characters of the same rank into your Carry, you increase their overall rarity and stats.
  • Use Level Link: Unlocked later in the game, Level Link lets you automatically sync the levels of your newer characters to your top five highest-leveled units without spending any EXP orbs.

Common Mistakes that Stall Progress

From my experience, here are a few mistakes I made that others should avoid when trying to go for these goals:
  • Opening Timed Resource Chests Too Early: In your inventory, you will find items that grant "2 Hours of EXP" or "4 Hours of Gold." Do not open these right away. The amount of resources they give is based on your current campaign progress. Save them for when you hit a frustrating wall and need a sudden burst of materials to level up your carry.
  • Not Finishing Dailies: Daily quests offer Diamonds, keys, and more. Don't skip these!
  • Forgetting to Quick Battle: Quick Battle is essential for pushing levels up. If you forget, you're likely missing out on 1-2 levels a day as a result.
  • Ignoring Gear Upgrades: Character levels aren't everything. Make sure you are actively forging and enhancing the gear equipped to your primary damage dealer.
  • Buying Diamonds Directly: If you decide to spend a little money to speed things up, avoid buying raw Diamonds. The early-game bundles and "First Top-Up" packs offer significantly better value for your money.

Daily Routine for MementoMori Grinding

Many offerwall players are playing 2-4 games at a time on sites like FreeCash, Swagbucks, Cointiply, you name it. In order to save you time, here is a clear list of daily requirements you can do quickly.
  • Clear out AFK rewards so they reset (you can do this twice a day)
  • Complete Quick Battles as many times as allowed, even if it spends Diamonds
  • Push the Campaign until you lose (turn on 4x Speed and Skip)
  • Push as far as possible in Tower of Infinity
  • Upgrade your best character as much as possible
